You pass through a coniferous forest of pines and furs and through stands of aspen. The terrain is alpine rugged, with peaks above 10,000 feet, but you ski along a valley and a ridge on relatively easy trails. The tour begins in Sun Valley, Idaho, and you are driven by van 1 hour and 15 minutes north to the hut trailhead in the Sawtooth Valley.
